About
The Material
The
material used for the weekend format is actually a combination of
information we’ve gained through our own marriage enrichment
experiences, conferences, the COVENANT MARRIAGE materials, FALL
FESTIVAL OF MARRIAGE weekends and valuable insights from authors such
as Ron Blue, Larry Burkett, James Dobson, Gary Smalley, and John Trent,
just to name a few. “How To Keep the Honey in the Honeymoon” conference
leads couples to a new sense of Christian purpose, direction, and
mission in their partnership with each other and with God. This
approach to ministry with couples offers the advantage of an
orientation toward making GOOD marriages BETTER, rather than focusing
on problem marriages. The conference is built on the strongest possible
combination of biblical and spiritual values, sound psychological
principles, and practical skill development.
About
The Conference
The ideal for this program is a relaxed setting away from the pressures
of home and work, such as a retreat-type facility or a motel with a
conference area. This type setting is advantageous for a comprehensive
focus on the material. However, if this is not a possibility then your
church fellowship hall or family life center adapts nicely. It is
strongly recommended that your church provide child care for the
participating couples. Two conference schedules are available. A
Friday evening and Saturday format or a Saturday afternoon, evening,
and Sunday morning (which would include a concert focused on the family
for the morning worship service in your church). The conference will
hopefully serve as a catalyst for continuing family ministries in your
church. Some of the topics that will be covered are:
- Having
A Little Fun.....Together
- Scriptural
Background....God's Design For Marriage
- Intimacy...Barriers
To Intimacy
- Affirmation of
Individuals....Couples
- Renewal of
Commitment
About
The Leaders

Ronnie is a fulltime music evangelist and family ministry leader. He
has taught school for several years in the area of mental retardation
and served on staff of several churches before going into evangelism.
He and his wife Beverly have two daughters, Christie and Jennifer.
Beverly was a homemaker before going back to school majoring in the
nursing profession. After receiving her BSN, she was involved in public
school nursing, worked as a surgical nurse and served as director of
in-service training and education at their local hospital. She now
travels with Ronnie fulltime. Both Ronnie and Beverly received their
leadership training and were certified to lead marriage enrichment
conferences by the Discipleship Training Department of the Southern
Baptist Convention.
About The Cost
Travel
expenses to and from the conference are to be taken care of by the
sponsoring church. Meals and lodging are also to be covered during the
weekend. In addition to these expenses, there is a budget need for each
conference. If a love offering is received, it will be received
with thanksgiving as this ministry relies solely on the gifts of God’s
people. It is strongly recommended that you set a registration fee for
each couple. Experience proves that if the couples have money invested
in the conference, they will be more likely to attend.
